QR Scanner – Privacy Policy

App: QR Scanner (Android package com.devvu.codescanner) · Developer: Devvu Apps · Effective date: 27 October 2026

This policy explains what information the QR Scanner app ("the app", "we") handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the app as distributed on Google Play.

In short

1. Information that stays on your phone

2. Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy it is used
CameraTo scan QR codes and barcodes.
ContactsOnly when you tap "Save contact" on a scanned contact card, to add that contact to your phone. The app does not read or upload your existing contacts.
CalendarOnly when you tap "Add to calendar" on a scanned event, to add that event. The app does not read or upload your calendar.
InternetFor usage statistics, crash reports and ads (section 3), and to open links you choose.
VibrationTo give haptic feedback after a scan (can be turned off in Settings).

Saving an exported QR code to your gallery uses the system's media storage and only writes the image you chose to save.

3. Information collected by Google services

The app includes the following services provided by Google. They collect information automatically to provide their service. None of them receive the text, links, contact details, Wi-Fi passwords or other content of the codes you scan or create.

ServiceWhat it collectsPurpose
Google Analytics for Firebase App interactions such as screens viewed, the type and format of codes scanned (for example "URL" or "QR"), which features are used, and the app language; plus an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system version, app version and approximate region. To understand how the app is used and improve it.
Firebase Crashlytics Crash and error reports: stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version, an installation identifier, and short technical notes such as why the camera failed to start. To find and fix crashes and bugs.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions. To show ads, which are shown only after you export a QR code that you created, and to measure and limit them.

Google processes this information under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy, Firebase privacy and security and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Information is transferred to and stored on Google's servers, which may be outside your country.

4. Retention

Information on your phone is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. Information collected by Google services is kept according to Google's retention settings for each service. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for up to 90 days.

5. Your choices

6. Deleting your data

QR Scanner has no accounts, so most of your data can be deleted by you directly:

7. Links and actions you open

When you open a scanned link, call a number, send an email or join a Wi-Fi network, that action happens in another app or website with its own privacy policy. The app's link check runs on your phone and does not send the link anywhere.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security and changes

We rely on Android's app sandbox and Google's security measures to protect information. If this policy changes, the updated version will be published in the app and on its Google Play listing with a new effective date.
