ScanDeck – Privacy Policy

App: ScanDeck (Android package com.devvu.docscanner) · Developer: Devvu Apps · Effective date: 27 October 2026

This policy explains what information the ScanDeck app ("the app", "we") handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the app as distributed on Google Play.

In short

1. Information that stays on your phone

2. Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy it is used
CameraTo scan documents, ID cards, books, signatures and QR codes. Images are processed on your device.
Photos and imagesTo import a photo you choose and scan it. Only the photos you pick are read.
Biometrics (fingerprint, face)Only if you turn on App lock. Android checks your fingerprint, face or screen lock; the app never receives your biometric data.
Internet and network stateFor ads (section 3) and, for some languages, to let Google Play services download a text-recognition model (section 3).
Advertising IDAdded by the Google Mobile Ads SDK; see section 3.

3. Information collected by Google services

The app includes the following services provided by Google. None of them receive your documents, page images, signatures or recognised text.

ServiceWhat it collectsPurpose
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) Advertising ID, IP address (used for approximate location), device and app information, and ad interactions such as views and taps. To show ads, which are always non-personalised (not based on your browsing or app history), and to measure ads, limit how often they show and prevent fraud. Ads are shown as small banners in the Library and Settings screens.
Google Play services (text recognition models) When you first recognise Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Devanagari (Hindi) text, Google Play services downloads the recognition model from Google. The request contains standard device information; it contains no images or text from your documents. To add text recognition for those scripts.

The app turns off the usage logging that Google ML Kit (text recognition and barcode scanning) would otherwise send to Google.

Google processes this information under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Information is transferred to and stored on Google's servers, which may be outside your country.

4. What you choose to share

When you share or print a document, export a backup, or open a link, phone number, email address or Wi-Fi network from a scanned code, the information goes where you send it and is handled under that app's or service's own privacy policy. Backups are encrypted with a passphrase you choose and saved to a location you pick; we never receive them.

5. Retention

Information on your phone is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. Deleted documents stay in the app's Trash for 30 days so you can restore them, unless you empty it sooner. Information collected by Google services is kept according to Google's retention policies.

6. Your choices

7. Deleting your data

ScanDeck has no accounts and we hold no copy of your documents, so you can delete your data yourself:

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security and changes

Documents are kept in the app's private storage, protected by Android's app sandbox, and you can add App lock. Backups are encrypted with AES-256. If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
